Objective The GEOBRESIL cruise has three main objectives: Study of current and pre-Pleistocene sedimentation conditions along the Vema Channel; Study of current and pre-Pleistocene sedimentation conditions on the Rio Grande Rise; Study of the nature and origin of the Rio Grande Rise, comparing them to those of the Walvis Ridge.
