Objectif L'objectif général du projet est l'étude de la variabilité dans les couches supérieures du Golfe de Guinée (GG). Il accorde une importance particulière aux échanges à l'interface océan atmosphère, via l'exploitation conjointe de mesures in situ et satellitales et de résultats de modèles numériques, et aussi à la circulation océanique de sub-surface qui conditionne en grande partie l'évolution des couches de surface. Pour répondre aux objectifs du programme, les campagnes EGEE (6 campagnes) vont permettre l'acquisition de mesures in situ hydrologiques et courantométriques dans les couches supérieures de l'océan, ainsi que de mesures météorologiques. Elles permettront également de maintenir le réseau de bouées ATLAS de PIRATA également nécessaires pour les études portant sur les échanges air-mer dans le Golfe de Guinée. Le projet de rattachement est AMMA (Analyses Multidisciplinaires de la Mousson Africaine).
