Objective

Study and modelling of circulation in the southern horns area of the New Caledonia lagoon. Exchanges between the ocean and the southern and south-western lagoons were studied. The role played by the ocean in lagoon productivity and the plankton community structural development from the oligotrophic ocean system to that of the lagoon. Surveying may be done on nutrient enrichment in the ocean near reefs, related to upwelling or other hydrodynamic phenomena. This falls under the PNEC New Caledonia project.
