Objective The coastal benthic biocenoses monitoring network's strategy, defined in the REBENT programme and applied to the coast of Brittany, planned to set up long-term monitoring of biodiversity in some high priority biocenoses. The REBENT14 cruise's main objective was to define the precise location of some infralittoral biocenoses in soft substrates in the Iroise Sea off southern Brittany in order to characterize their nearby environment. Sites were studied in the bay of Vilaine to supplement the REBENT4 cruise, and in the bay of Brest/Camaret. Facilities deployed (mainly acoustics, sediment sampling and submarine video) provided morphosedimentary surface data to better assess possible issues of heterogeneity in the habitat distribution. The related project is REBENT (Benthic network). The cruise was performed in both the English Channel and the Bay of Biscay. The specific geographic boundaries were: Bay of Vilaine: North: 47°29' N/ South: 47°15' N / West: 2°52' W / East: 2°30' W. In the bay of Brest/Camaret: North: 48°21' N/ South: 48°16' N/ West: 4°37' W / East: 4°18' W.
