| Objective | The SolBMOL1 cruise caught juvenile sole of various ages (groups G0 and G1) in the Bay of Seine. The individuals sampled were measured and weighed to calculate condition indices. They will undergo chemical analyses to determine their levels of PCB, PAH (related compounds and metabolites) and PBDE contamination. In the same individuals, DNA lesions, detoxification enzyme activity and antioxidant defences would also be measured. The relationship between the chemical contamination of the fish and their state of stress could thus be studied. In each of the two sampling areas, sediment samples were also taken using a Van Veen grab to assess the level of chemical contamination in the studied zones. The cruise was related to the SoleBEMol (DYSCO) project. |
