Summary of measurements |
- The trials for the operational deployment of the ER60/ME70 single beam and multibeam fisheries sounders piloted by HERMES (Hydro acoustics Efficient Remoting Module for Echo Sounders) software included:
-calibrating the ME70 sounder in the Bay of Douarnenez with 25, 75 and 84 mm spheres. -GENAVIR employees were trained to put the platform into operation (including calibration). -the ER60/ME70 configurations were fine tuned to prepare for the planned data acquisition on the PELGAS07 cruise. - acoustic data acquisition from ER60 (18,38,70,120 and 200 kHz) and ME70 in several configurations - Data collected in shoals of herring in the English Channel and on mackerel, horse mackerel and sardine aggregations on the edges of the shelf. -The TECHSAS software was tested to replace the TERMES, CITE and ARCHIV systems. -PUPITRI software: Installing and validating the new PUPITRI software which controls the sorting room carousel, in order to use it operationally for the first time during the following PELACUS cruise (26/03/07 to 23/04/07). -Trawl echosounder trials to replace the current OSSIAN500 echosounder. The ES60 sounder was tested connected to a 200 kHz base and to the FS70 trawl sonar. Trawl hauls were performed (surface and water column) at variable sounding depths (40 to 200 m).
