Objective Main objective: To build up times series of abundance indexes for the main commercial species in the North Sea (Assessment of the main North Sea commercial species). Larval index calculated for herring and sprat. Additional objectives: Egg sampling using the CUFES (Continuous Underway Fish Egg Sampler) in the North Sea. Study of the distribution and relative abundance in winter of marine mammals and seabirds in the North Sea. Logging of acoustic data for later analysis. Related projects are the International Bottom Trawl Survey ' Assessments of fisheries under EU management and non-EU management. Fisheries information system.
