Objective

Exploration and sampling of hydrothermal sites on the Atlantic ridge between 13°N and 17°N. This multidisciplinary study included geological, geochemical, biological and microbiological approaches. Studying how hydrothermal systems function and their specificities resulting from interaction of seawater and mantle rocks. This is part of the Programme GEODE programme studying extreme deep sea environments.
