Objective The main objective was to estimate the exploitable biomass, quantitative indices of recruitment (next generation to be taken in catches) and pre-recruitment (last-born generation, too small to be caught by fishing gear), and growth parameters. These data were to provide scientific backing for decisions made by the Scallops committee of the Lower-Normandy regional marine fisheries and mariculture Committee, before the start of the fishing season, and for management measures adopted by the Fisheries administration. It falls under Theme D of the D2 programme on Fisheries assessment.
