| Objective | This involved using optical measurements (Rrs and Kd) to obtain a data set to determine and quantify the particulate (suspended matter and phytoplankton) and dissolved (CDOM) compounds in coastal water which will enable satellite data (MODIS, MERIS, ASTER, etc.) to be interpreted. The project is conducted in relation with the RSFLUX project of the Universities of Plymouth (Geomatics laboratory, Dr. Lavender), Bangor (Remote Sensing laboratory, G. Michelson) and the Oceanography laboratory of Villefranche sur Mer (David Doxaran). These data should enable us to improve the algorithms used to determine and quantify particulate and dissolved substances used by satellite sensors devoted to monitoring the color of the ocean, particularly in coastal waters. The cruise was related to the RSFLUX project. |
