Objective

The cruise aimed to collect acoustic data to describe the spatial distribution of fish on a small-scale and in 2D. The AsterX AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) was chosen as the platform. A towed fish was also used to collect data, in order to compare the estimations. The study zone was the northern part of the Grande Vasière mudflats of the Bay of Biscay, with hake as the target species. Due to adverse weather conditions, the cruise was abandoned after three days. The related project was Ifremer ObsHal.
