Objective | Technical trials at sea for a device designed to take physical and chemical measurements in the water column to depths reaching 5,000 meters. The innovative aspect lies in a continuous flow analyzer which can titrate very small concentrations of Mn in situ. This analyzer works with a CTD and a set of sampling bottles. The various sub-assemblies are remote controlled via the umbilical cable. Mn measurements taken in situ can be accessed in real time. This falls under the SERPENTINE cruise, part of Ifremer's Theme 5 - Program 1. |
