Objective The cruise's main objective was to evaluate innovative systems to monitor chemical contamination in coastal zone water masses. The tools tested (automatic passive sampler) were to contribute to quantifying the role of sediments as a potential source of contaminants when re-suspended and to a data acquisition capacity on water mass contamination in meteorological situations where conventional sampling methods cannot be used. The SBSE and DGT samplers used could extract and concentrate, in situ, some hydrophobic organic (PAH, PCB) and metallic contaminants.
