Objective The ENVAR cruise series, of which ENVAR3 was a part, was to run several observation sites along the Var canyon in order to measure environmental parameters and take canyon fauna samples over a long enough period to observe turbidity phenomena and its ecological consequences. It was important to coordinate our efforts with other French and European teams who are active in this field (HERMES program).
