Objectif

L'objectif principal de la campagne GRAVILUCK était la mise en place d'un réseau géodésique pour la mesure des déformations verticales à l'axe de la dorsale Médio-Atlantique, dans le cadre du chantier MoMAR (Monitoring of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge). Des mesures de gravimétrie et pression ont été effectuées sur ce réseau matérialisé par des repères installés définitivement sur le fond. Parallèlement au programme de jour du Nautile consacré à la gravimétrie et la géodésie, un programme de nuit était consacré pour moitié à des mesures d'océanographie physique sur les phénomènes de mélange turbulent en liaison avec le relief à l'axe de la dorsale et pour moitié à des observations et prélèvements géologiques effectués avec le Towcam (caméra tractée, associée à 1 magnétomètre et un préleveur d'échantillons).
