Objective | The survey falls under the framework of the PIM (Mediterranean integrated) project. This was a technological cruise aiming to test the catch capability of gillnets and folding creels or pots on different age classes of hake on bottoms from 400 to 600m which are not accessible by trawlingt. Two liens of nets of 1,200 m each and two lines of 14 pots each were to be simultaneously set and several canyons in the west of the Gulf of Lion were to be explored. If the numbers of hake captured on these sounds are interesting, a cruise will be scheduled in the framework of the Merlumed project whose objective is to assess and quantify the processes of bioaccumulation of contaminants in the hake's (Merluccius merluccius) food web in the Gulf of Lion. |
