Objective High resolution magnetic data acquisition through the calm Cretacean period, using a towed magnometer a few hundred meters from the bottom, to address: detailed changes in the earth's magnetic field during the quiet Cretaceous period, the relation between secular variation and the frequency of inversions of the earth's magnetic field, magnetic properties and structure of the ocean crust deduced from the residual distorsion of anomalies, the existence of any time markers of ocean basin trends and global kinematics during the Cretaceous. Good knowledge of the bedrock topolology supplied by fast seismic data acquisition is needed to correct for its effects on the magnetic data and to check that the magnetic signals observed are indeed of geomagnetic origin.Escale intermédiaire à Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (30 juillet 2005 - 1 août 2005).?Intermediate call at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (30 July 2005 - 1 August 2005).
