Objective The objective of this survey was to collect basic data in order to estimate the status of fisheries resources, by direct assessment of stock abundance and distribution, along with taking biological samples of commercial catches. This is related to the BIOECO project number 98/058: Fisheries resource assessment surveys in the North Sea and Eastern English Channel.
