Objective

The VT 72 / SUNART - ORSANE enhanced transit is included in the MD141/ALIENOR1 (A LIbon-El Ferrol cruise A support for North Oriental Atlantic Research). Core sampling of the sedimentary series surveyed by seismic methods in 2002 in Loch Sunart (N.W Scotland). Fine-tuning this series, which must go back to 12,000 B.P. should enable the paleoclimate, and more particularly the deglaciation trends since the Younger Dryas, to be reproduced. It may become possible to highlight the event at -8,200 years B.P. 4 cores (2 CALYPSO and 2 CASQ) should enable this ambitious goal to be reached. This falls under the CLIMAT project.
