Objective The MD 141/ALIENOR 1 survey (A LIbon-El Ferrol cruise. A support for North Oriental Atlantic Research) includes the PRIMAROSA 2 program and taking advantage of transit VT 72 / SUNART-ORSANE. This cruise also included 1 floating university and 2 contracts (SEQUOIA contract (NERC and BGS) et and Western Scotland Site contract (BGS)) The objectives are: 1) Quaternary paleoclimate variability, past 450,000, Ocean-Continent relationship (PRIMAROSA project), 2) Very high resolution study of the last deglaciation (SUNART/ORSANE project, Loch Sunart), and 3) Instability of ice caps and climate variability during the last cycle (SEQUOIA project). The related programs are: The related programs are Ifremer's margin program, IMAGES, GDR Marge, PNEDC, ECLIPSE Eurocores, Clivar, NERC and British Geological Survey program.----------------------
