Objective Main objective: To build up times series of abundance indices for the main commercial species in the North Sea (Assessment of the main North Sea commercial species) Additional objectives: Analysis of acoustic data (in the framework of the European CATEFA project), Physical-chemical, hydrological and biological characterization in the English Channel and the North Sea in wintertime. Related projects are the International Bottom Trawl Survey - Assessments of fisheries under EU management and non-EU management. Fisheries information system - The Liteau II project "Integrated modeling of nutrient transfers from the Seine, Somme and Escaut catchments in the Channel and North Sea.
