Objective Exploration of the canyon zone on the south Portuguese margin. Exploration of submarine instabilities and possible deep-sea fluid discharge areas in the zone. Surveying the structures and sedimentary constructions put into place by the interaction between the bottom current leaving the Mediterranean, called the Mediterranean water vein and gravity-related landslides perpendicular to the margin, following underwater canyons. Sandy lobe structures and sedimentology. Time variations in water vein's activity under the influence of climate changes during the Quaternary. Exploration of paleoseismic traces in core samples.
