Objective | The RINBIO 2003 cruise was carried out along the French Mediterranean shore line with the following objectives: - assessing chemical contamination levels in each water mass identified for the Water Framework Directive's implementation in Languedoc Roussillon, the PACA region of southern France and Corsica. 2 - increasing monitoring of water masses identified during the three previous network cruises (96, 98, 2000) as being contaminated. 3 - experimenting on measuring the chemical contaminants given priority the DCE, appendix 10, in mussel flesh in these areas. 4 - measuring radio-nuclide contamination levels at a small number (40) of stations, in partnership with the IRSN (institute for radioprotection and nuclear safety). The related project is the Biological integrator network C14 007. |
