Objective | The mission aimed to study the impact of winter storms in December 2004 on sediment deposits and dynamics in the Gulf of Lions. The first phase was devoted to deploying a Benthic observatory (called BOBO Lander) at the mouth of the submarine canyon of Sète. The lander can measure temperature, water turbidity and current speed (ADCP). It also carries a sediment trap to measure sedimentary fluxes. The second phase dealt with multibeam bathymetric mapping of the Rhone prodelta to determine the impact of floods in early December 2003. The related project is Eurostrataform. |
