Objectif Les objectifs scientifiques de la campagne MD 127/PAGE (PALEOCEANOGRAPHIE DE L'ATLANTIQUE ET GEOCHIMIE) sont d'obtenir des reconstitutions paléocéanographiques à ultra haute résolution (échelle séculaire) dans des environnements représentant des zones clefs scientifiquement novatrices, mais encore mal connues, tels les sédiments varves du delta du Mississippi et du bassin d'Orca dans le Golfe du Mexique. Ces zones sont caractérisées par des forts taux d'accumulation, permettant une résolution décennale des phénomènes, notamment les épisodes de megacrues du Mississippi et les relations entre les phénomènes de hautes latitudes (évolution de la calotte Laurentide) et les conditions hydrologiques des zones tropicales - subtropicales (Golfe du Mexique). Le projet de rattachement est PAGE MD127 / GEOSCIENCES MARINE IFREMER.
