Objective | The MD 126/MONA (North American western margins) cruise was to collect very long core samples (CALYPSO corer) along the western coast of America. The cores will give highly detailed recordings of climate variability over the past 1,000 to 150,000 years. They will help us better understand the long term development of the El Niño phenomenon. This falls under the IMAGES project. |
