Objectif

Les recherches ont portées sur deux thématiques différentes mais en partie liées :

  • La structure profonde, intra-salifère, du delta sous marin du Nil et
  • la structure profonde, également intra-salifère, de plusieurs domaines de la Ride Méditerranéenne.

Dans les deux cas, le challenge de la campagne Medisis était double: tenter d'imager sismiquement la structure et l'épaisseur des ensembles sédimentaires intra-salifères et obtenir des images sismiques de la base de la croute (limite du Moho), continentale dans le cas du delta profond du Nil, en partie continentale et en partie océanique dans le cas du prisme méditerranéen.

Le projet de rattachement est GDR Marges.
