Objective This cruise was part of a semestrial programme to assess discards by fishing vessels of various species (hake, sole, nephrops, etc.) of undersized fish which cannot be legally marketed. This information, supplemented by demographic data of landings (samples in fish auctions), was essential to understand fisheries stock trends. Along with this main objective, other operations (collecting biological matter, monitoring macrowaste pollution, etc.) are occasionally run.
