Objectif

Les objectifs fixés pour la campagne GMO2-CARNAC etaient :

  • Comprendre les types de rupture qui ont conduit aux glissements repertoriés en Méditerranée Occidentale (aspects morphologiques, géométriques, nature des sédiments concernés, type de déformation des masses glissées à proximité de leur zone de départ).
  • Mettre en évidence les éventuelles relations spatio-temporelles entre dépôt proximal (type slump/debris-flow) et dépôt distal (type turbidité) en terme de processus de transport.
  • Identifier les propriétés géomécaniques des sédiments en place non remanies (immédiatement à l'amont de la zone de rupture) et si possible de la surface de glissement.
  • Analyser la stabilité des pentes afin d'établir les mécanismes controlant l'initiation des glissements et le transport sédimentaire.
  • Définir des méthodes de traitement et d'analyse des signaux et données acoustiques.
  • Etudier les relations entre les propriétés acoustiques et géotechniques.
  • Mettre au point des outils de traitements de données.

Le projet de rattachement est "COSTA".
