Objectif Obtenir des carottes de grande longueur à des fins de reconstitutions paléoocéanographiques et paléoclimatiques au sud de l'archipel indonésien. Il s'agit de retracer les évolutions de la mousson ainsi que les modifications de circulation océanique au cours du passe (au cours des derniers n*100 000 ans). Nous avons effectué 5 carottages en 4 sites à diverses profondeurs (entre 1000 et 2500 mètres). Ce travail entre dans le cadre du programme international IMAGES. En outre, profitant du fait que le travail principal de la mission concernait un programme d'hydrologie (MD 119/TIP 2000) dont le LODYC était maître d'oeuvre, nous avons effectué des prélèvements d'eau lors des CTD sur chaque site de carottage et lors des 8 stations hydrologiques. Ceci pour étalonner les mesures d'alkénones sur des échantillons actuels. Nous avons aussi prélevé quelques traits de filets à plancton aux sites de carottage uniquement pour des mesures ultérieures de Mg/Ca sur les foraminifères planctoniques. Les limites géographiques précises pour les prélèvements d'eau sont : Nord : 10 deg 40 S, Sud : 22 deg 08 S, Ouest : 110 deg 49 E, Est : 117 deg 05 E.
