The aim was to deploy several tools never before used in the Amazon River and to acquire new geophysical (bathymetry and high-resolution multi-trace seismic), sedimentological and geochemical (cores, bottom load and suspended particles) data to gain a better understanding of the transport of sediments from source to sink and their evolution over time with the concomitant role of climate, sea level and tectonic changes.
