Objective | Within the framework of the project, the coastal areas at the entrance to the Gulf were mapped using high-resolution imagery and bathymetry. Particular attention was paid to the morphology inherited at the top of the basement and to the sedimentary architecture put in place during the last marine flood (post 10,000 years). These new geophysical investigations complete our knowledge of the role of structural inheritance on the past and present-day sedimentary distribution. The sediment sounder (Chirp type, THR seismic) has allowed us to observe the architecture of superficial fine sediment deposits and fills. The parallel implementation of a monotrace Sparker seismic system (HR seismic operated by the LGO-IUEM) has allowed to better define the internal structure of the sandy sedimentary bodies and to distinguish structural features |
