Objective

The MAYOBS3-MD222 campaign was occurred on board French Oceanographic research vessel Marion Dufresne (13 and 14 July 2019), in the framework of a research program on a seismo-volcanic crisis started in May 2018. This program, dedicated to the observation and deciphering of this crisis, is funded by the Ministry of Education, the MTES (ministry of "transition écologique et solidaire") and the institutes (IPGP, IPGS, BRGM, IFREMER).

The main objective of this third mission was to collect eight ocean bottom seismometers (microbs). The recorded data will allow to follow the evolution of active seismicity on this area. Some geophysical surveys have been also acquired during the transit in order to follow the evolution of the submarines relief. The MAYOBS3 data will complement those of the previous MAYOBS campains (MAYOBS1, MAYOBS2).
