The first objective of the cruise is the operational validation of different evolutions or bug corrections of the Hybrid ROV Ariane, identified during its first scientific cruises or in prevision of futur scientific requirements. In this context, sea trials of a new intervention payload are planned. This equipement, developped in EMSOLINK project, will be usefull to increase sampling capabilities and to optimize maintenance tasks on underwater observatories. After validation, this new payload will be integrated to HROV system and will be proposed as a new functionnality from 2021.

Another objective for this mission is the validation of the deployment mode "FAIBLE FOND" (0 to 400 m) for a transfer.  This will also allow confirmation of the entire bottom/surface link. This link includes a small winch with a new cable, as well as a small lest. Tests with the SMF are planned to compare the data acquired, with a comparison at 45 and 90 degrees.
