Objective

The PHRESQUES field campaigns support complementary objectives:

  1. Operating sensor maintenance of the marine stations of the COAST-HF - PHRESQUES network (stations SCENES and SMILE)
  2. Providing reference samples and reference sensor profiles for calibration and validation of sensors deployed from stations and for instruments deployed from the RV during the field campaign.
  3. Identifying and understanding SPM dynamics in relation with the variable composition of the SPM (organic/mineral fractions), focusing on the OM-mineral interactions. The pluriannual programmation of the field campaign contribute to evaluate a wide range of hydro-meteorological conditions.
  4. Investigating the added value of combining acoustic and optical sensors (mono or multi optical wavelengthes / acoustic frequencies) to quantify total SPM concentration (PostDoc of Duc Tran, Ifremer)
  5. Studying the relationship between phytoplankton diversity and phytoplankton productivity in the Seine Bay / Seine Estuary. PhD research project of Leon Serre-Fredj, BOREA, Uni Caen.
