Objective

Amongs of the MFSD surveyance program, demersal fish and cephalops on soft-bottom coastal habitats was made a priority. Long-term operational monitoring had to be set up during the first 2014-2020 cycle, based on a serie of yearly surveys in shallow (<40m) coastal Méditeranean waters where no such program existed. This survey is operated in demersal fish coastal nursery grounds which are essentials habitats for many marine species and aim to collect the necesary data to compute "good environemental status" indices and define the management strategies that will ensure sustainable use of these habitats.
