Objective | This cruise is part of the general framework of the ANR project: Socio-Ecosystem Approaches to the Impact of Floating Wind Farms (APPEAL). This campaign concerns, more specifically, the first phase of the development of offshore wind farms in the French Mediterranean.Their implantation in natural environment must be tested and characterized to allow to consider their development on a large scale. On the French Mediterranean coast, three sites will host pilot structures before the deployment of wind farms for commercial exploitation: Leucate and Gruissan, along the coast of Languedoc Roussillon, and Faraman in the Provence Alpes region French Riviera. The present cruise concerns the pilotsite located off Leucate and is intended to describe the initial state of the benthic invertebrate communities in the largest of the proposed structures. |
