Objective

Sampling of the brown algae Sargassum, together with the flora and fauna associated to the sargasso rafts in the tropical north Atlantic. Measurement of environmental and spectral parameters for a better understanding of the massive strandings observed on the shores of Africa and the Caribbean since 2011. The related project is SARGASSES.

The ship Yersin was chartered by Monaco Explorations.
