Objective

The objective of NURSE 2017 is to collect data that will help monitor and understand how coastal zone nurseries function, since these habitats are vital for recruitment of juveniles of several species important to fisheries. Therefore, it involves continuing the standardised sampling of benthic and demersal populations (both commercial and non-commercial species) begun in the 1980s, in order to develop quality indicators for nursery habitats and GES indicators for coastal populations.
