Objective	The main aim was to sample juveniles of the thornback (Raja clavata) in the bay od Douarnenez. Sampled individuals will be genotyped in the ANR GenoPopTaille project, which aims at estimating the census population of the thornback ray in the Bay of Biscay with a genetic method. The abundance of the thornback was reported in published papers in the 1970s and 1980s. Nowadays, the Bay of Douarnenez is one of the main area where egg capsules of this species are stranded at the coast. The related project is ANR GenoPopTaille.
