Objective The cruise aimed to collect data to help monitor and understand the functioning of nurseries in the coastal zone, since these essential habitats play a determining role in the recruitment of juveniles in several fish species. There were two parts to this objective: 1) Continuing the standardized sampling of benthic and demersal populations (commercial and non-commercial fish and invertebrates) begun in the 1980s in order to develop quality indicators for nursery habitats and indicators of good environmental status (GES) of coastal populations; 2) Characterizing the food web structure determining the dependence of fish species with respect to various habitats present downstream from the Loire.
