Objective

The main objectives of this REM2040 cruise in 2016 were as follows: 1) Pursuing the EM 2040/EK60 data acquisition series on the baseline zones of Carré Renard, Pierres Noires, towards Camaret and in the bay of Douarnenez; 2) Utilizing the two frequencies for the EK 60 echosounder (200 and 333 kHz) and several tilt angles (with a Pan & Tilt system) in order to make comparisons with several frequencies and beams of the EM 2040; 3) Testing single-beam echosounders in EK 80 mode with the new Simrad WBT acquisition systems for frequency scanning from 160 to 460 kHz (Chirp and CW mode); 4) Video acquisitions and Shipeck grab samples.
