Objective The main objectives of the second of the REM2040 cruises in 2015 were: 1) Pursuing the EM 2040/EK60 data acquisition series on the baseline zones of Carré Renard and Pierres Noires; 2) Utilizing the two frequencies for the EK 60 echosounder (200 and 333 kHz), in order to make comparisons with several frequencies of the EM 2040; 3) Testing the EM 2040 by using long signals. This cruise also enabled us to deploy the towed PeskAvel sub-bottom profiler to check its hydrodynamic behaviour and test the spare electronic components (1 day devoted to this).
