| Objective | Very high-resolution seismic exploration of the Breton Pertuis and the Vendee-Brittany sill. The exploration operation aimed to: dentify the channels and the erosion surfaces created during low sea level stands; -evaluate the volume of soft sediment; -distinguish the sediments of the last low sea level stand or during the Holocene transgression from sediments formed under present-day conditions; -distinguish zones that are being infilled from areas that are eroding; -compare the Breton Pertuis (results from this cruise) with the Antioche Pertuis (INSU MOBIDYC1 cruise - March 2000) to better discern the current or past hydrodynamic phenomena that govern the distribution of sediments, to produce a sedimentary budget for the Charente coast through comparison with bathymetric maps (SHOM data) and to provide the boundary conditions for the numerical models being developed at CLDG. ADCP measurement on the Longe de Boyard sand bank to provide the boundary conditions for the numerical models of tide currents used at the CLDG. |
