Objective The main objective is to begin a time series in the Algerian basin, like that of the MOOSE programme in the North Mediterranean basin, for the vital oceanic variables of profiles (CTD, oxygen, fluorescence, turbidity, currents) and spot samples (nutrients, inorganic carbon, pigments) over an array of surface-bottom stations. This long-term information will be essential for all of the scientific projects and models developed in the framework of MERMEX or other national and international programmes.
