Summary of measurements

-Echosounding: continuous logging (Reunion Island -Reunion Island) of acoustic data from dual frequency (38 and 120 kHz) EK60 echosounder between the surface and a depth of 1,000 m.
-Pelagic trawling: 43 hauls in all between 25 and 600 m in oceanic zone, 39 in the MYCTO zone east of Kerguelen and 4 outside of the MYCTO zone proper (2 to the north of Crozet, 1 at 56°S and 1 in subtropical waters).
-Physical oceanography: utilisation an elephant seal-type CTD attached to the trawl during each haul; 38 XCTD probes cast; 30 Lagrangian buoys deployed; 3 Argo profiling floats deployed.
-Tissue sampling (isotopy): approximately 400 samples taken on the principal species of micronecton (myctophids and other mesopelagic fish) and macrozooplankton (euphausiacea, amphipods, chaetognaths and salps).
-Bioluminescence: 75 specimens (8 species) of myctophids tested in luminometry, luminescence photographs taken, tissue samples fixed for histological analysis or frozen at -80°C for biochemical analysis.
-The MK9 probe's luminescence detection capacity was also evaluated; It should be noted that other pelagic species of fish, cephalopods, annelids, ctenaria and cnidaria were also observed and tested.
