Objectif

Du 24 février au 14 mars, les eaux sous régionales (Mauritanie, Sénégal, Gambie), situées dans la partie méridionale du grand écosystème du courant des canaries, ont été le théâtre d'une campagne scientifique menée à bord du navire Thalassa (Brest, France) de l'Ifremer : AWA. Conduite dans le cadre du programme AWA (Ecosystem Approach to the management of fisheries and the marine environment in West African waters), ces campagnes, par une investigation minutieuse de l'habitat pélagique des côtes Mauritanienne et sénégalo-gambienne, afin de mieux comprendre le fonctionnement de l'écosystèmes et ainsi mieux appréhender les problématique liées aux changement climatiques ou la compréhension du renouvellement des populations de « yahboy » (sardinelle). Le projet de rattachement est AWA (BMBF -IRD).
