Objective The objective of this cruise, which carries on from the first BREBENT-01 cruise performed in March 2012, was to revisit the observation stations in the zone where the landfall cable is installed using high definition (HD) video. The methodological approach chosen was to use HD video imaging, with a drop-down video camera lowered from the ship and on dives (on 3 observation sites located at depths of less than 25m). The aim is to determine some biological parameters of benthic populations in the area (species richness, rate of coverage by epifauna, and the distribution area of the main megafauna species). An additional objective was to install an ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) in the zone where tidal stream turbine demonstrators were set up, at a depth of approximately 40m. This falls under the France Energies Marines A081020 Activities project.
