| Objective | The new program proposes an integrated study on the position of fish in the subantarctic coastal ecosystem, developing 3 topics. -the influence of oceanographic conditions in the coastal environment (hydrology and planktonology) on the distribution of fish larvae, their pelagic prey (amphipods, copepods, etc.), and adult fish; -evaluation of fish habitats in the North Kerguelen fjords and in the Golfe des Baleiniers with respect to bathymetry, to distance from the coast and seaweed beds; cytogenetic study of subantarctic fish and molecular phylogeny and systematics, population genetics. |
