Objective | In the framework of a partnership between the Conservatoire du Littoral, IFREMER and CNRS, the HEIMa (on habitat, species and marine interactions) programme aims to draw up mapping of subtidal shallow seabed in the Chausey archipelago, extending that which exists for the intertidal area. This study is based on implementing combined, adapted methodologies in order to describe and locate the morphosedimentary facies and associated benthic assemblages. The HACHAUMA cruise made it possible to survey the morphology and distribution of seabed types in the archipelago of Chausey to the 15-metre isobath (marine chart), specially focusing on the detection of maerl and slipper limpet populations and meadows. HACHAUMA was complemented by a biological sampling cruise in June 2012. |
